Vitra Map Table For Barber Osgerby

Map Table was commissioned by Vitra and Barber Osgerby to coincide with the launch of their modular Map Table system. Each table can be combined and connected like Lego to form endless configurations.

Inspired by the layout of my favourite children’s books, the early-stage design concept depicted a busy classroom. Originally, Vitra’s modular furniture was intended for schools. Map Table's set of assembled parts had a life beyond the classroom, better suiting the studio or office.

Below is an overview of the concept's evolution, from children at play to a day-in-the-life of an artist at work in her studio.

Music by Dan Arthure. Produced with Nexus Studios.
